PETTUS — The visiting Kenedy Lions were packing too much firepower last Tuesday as they captured an 84-72 win over the Pettus varsity basketball boys in the season finale for both teams.

“Our young men fought till the last buzzer, but fell a little short. I continue to be extremely proud of the effort that these young men exhibited in this game and throughout the season,” said Pettus head coach Tony Ferguson.

Clay Brown led the Eagles in scoring with 25 points on the night. Brown hit three long-range jumpers. Eric Montez also topped the 20-point mark with 21 total. John Grayson and C.J. Cruz hit for nine points apiece. Matt Gonzales added five. Jonathon Solomon contributed two, and Diego Delgado made one free throw.
