Powerlifters place second at G-P

PORTLAND — The varsity Trojan powerlifters competed at the Gregory-Portland meet on Feb. 9 with good results.

The varsity boys team finished second overall with good showings from several lifters.

Three Trojans captured first place medals at the event. At 165 pounds, Tristan Pelitire took home the gold with a three-lift total of 1,350 pounds. Dillon Torres won the 181-pound division with a total of 1,295 pounds. Cameron Ellerbee in the 275-pound class captured first place with a combined total of 1,415 pounds.

Hilario Luna captured a second place in the 132-pound class with a three-lift total of 960 pounds. Samuel Navarro was fourth at 148 pounds with a total of 1,095. Jacob Flores also placed fourth in the 198-pound division with a three-lift total of 1,305 pounds.

The Lady Trojans had two girls place for a medal. Ashley Olivarez won the 200-pound class with a total of 820 pounds. Alexis Pelitire was third in the 165-pound class with an 805 total.
