Members of the committee include Warren Keyes, Phillip Sanchez, Ricky Piwetz, Kenneth Wright and Anthony Daniel.
The committee is charged with recommending policies regarding the Refugio County Airport and help the community become more aware of airport operations while advising on capital improvements and planning for the facility.
Commissioners also approved a resolution to approve the proposal by the Refugio County Appraisal District to purchase adjoining office space to the district at a cost of $25,000 and renovation costs of $150,000.
The funds to purchase and renovate the office space come from the district at no cost to the county.
The appraisal district must get approval from al the governmental entities to proceed with the purchase, including city councils, school districts and the county.
The commissioners also received a Refugio County Sheriff’s Office report on traffic enforcement.
A total of 237 citations were issued for January with total estimated fines totalling $60,641.
Commissioners also acknowledged employee status changes.
Jaime O’Reilly was promoted from a deputy to a patrol sergeant for the Sheriff’s Office with salary change from $40,671 to $42,696; Larry Patton II was employed as a deputy for the Sheriff’s Office effective Feb. 1 at a salary of $40671; and Kenda Nelson was employed as the director of Elderly Services with a salary of $42,716.
Commissioners also discussed a request from the Refugio County Historical Commission to place a historical marker on the courthouse grounds near the sidewalk across from the Sally Scull marker for the birthplace of Clara Driscoll.
