Thirty Thomas Jefferson Elementary School fourth- and fifth-graders were inducted into the National Elementary Honor Society Thursday evening, Feb. 7. During the ceremony — the first of its kind for the school — the students pledged to achieve the most from their education, to be responsible and enthusiastic, to learn the skills of leadership and to be a role model for their peers.
Family, friends and faculty members were present to help honor these fine students.
NEHS sponsor Mina Patel said, “We were honored to have the A.C. Jones Honor Society officers help induct our students into this prestigious society.
“Students were selected according to grades and responsibilities they have shown at home, school and in the community. Members are held in high regard and are expected to learn and show great leadership skills.”
