BEEVILLE — B.O.B.W.E. will host its first Wounded Warriors benefit run this weekend with all proceeds donated to the Wounded Warrior Project.

Cassandra Lockhart, the head bartender at the establishment, said, “This is our first ever Wounded Warrior fundraiser, and we’re just so thankful for all the help we’re getting.”

The run will consist of five stops: Chasers Bar and Grill, 10620 CR 535 in Papalote; Grunts Texas Cantina, 1991 FM 534 in Sandia; Riverbend 534 Club, 495 FM 534 in Mathis; Horney’s Bar, 927 FM 3024 in Mathis; and ending at B.O.B.W.E., 1308 S. St. Mary’s St.

After the run at about 6 p.m. a barbecue meal will be held along with a raffle at the establishment.

“We just want to give back to the men and women who have given so much for us,” Lockhart said.

“It’s not about the destination, it’s about the journey. We’re a local bar, and we just want to give back to our community and our boys in blue.”

The run will begin at B.O.B.W.E. Saturday, March 9, at 10:30 a.m.
