Four Trojans placed first and two placed second. Eric Dehnert won his third consecutive gold medal. Dehnert defeated Garza (Ben Bolt) in the finals, 6-2, 6-1, and went 3-0 in the tournament.
Cori Moore placed first, defeating Borden of Port Aransas, 6-1, 6-1. Moore went 3-0 in the tournament. The Trojan mixed doubles team of Graham Traylor and Emily Barris won their first gold medal of the spring season, defeating Wright and Zollar (Port Aransas), 3-6, 6-2, 10-1. Graham and Barris went 3-0 in the tournament.
Roberto Reyna and Colton Wren took the silver medal in boys’ doubles. In the championship match, Reyna and Wren were defeated by Port Aransas’ Roas/Borden, 7-5, 6-4. Reyna and Wren went 2-1 for the tournament.
Cori Sparks and Samantha Ramon placed second in girls’ doubles. They were defeated by Thompson and Cabrera (Aransas Pass) in the finals, 6-4, 2-6, 10-6. Sparks and Ramon went 3-1 in the tournament.
Tyler Stewart won the boys’ singles consolation championship with a win over Barr (Port Aransas), 6-0, 6-1. Stewart went 2-1 in the tournament.
In the junior varsity division, freshman Lucas Guerrero and Karla Martinez won the gold medal in mixed doubles. Playing a round-robin, Guerrero and Martinez went undefeated, going 6-0 in the tournament.
Miranda Cardenas and Emily Carbajal placed second in girls’ doubles, going 3-1 in the tournament.
