REFUGIO – Refugio Lady Cats Varsity softball and Aransas Pass Panthers volleyed the lead five times on Monday, March 18, but Refugio came out on top for a 7-6 win.

The Lady Cats pulled out the win thanks to a strong fourth inning. Scoring on an RBI single by Michelle Rosas, plating Cecilia Bauer.

It was a good day at the plate for Lady Cat Kiasha Brown. Brown went 3-4, drove in one and scored one run. She singled in the first, third, and fourth innings.

Refugio Lady Cats survived Aransas Pass’ surge and put up four runs of its own in the third. An RBI single by Brown and a three-run error when Kaitlyn Williams connected a hard ground ball toward the shortstop.

The Lady Cats went up for good in the fourth scoring two total runs, which came home on an error.

Refugio Lady Cats Varsity softball team left no doubt in the outcome of 12-5. In Goliad on Friday, March 15.

With five runs in the seventh. The teams traded runs for most of the contest, leading to five lead changes in the game.

The Lady Cats finally managed to grab the lead after a strong sixth inning. They went up for good on an RBI single by Kasandra Hernandez off Michelle Campbell scoring Jackie Gonzalez.

Refugio jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the top of the first. A solo home run by Cecila Bauer started the inning off.

Goliad scored two runs in the third inning, and then followed it up with two more in the sixth. In the third, Goliad scored on an RBI double.
