BEEVILLE – Dry condition prompted Bee County commissioners today (Monday) to ban outdoor burning.

Robert Bridge, emergency management coordinator, said that fire chiefs weren’t unanimous in their opinions as to whether or not the ban should be implemented.

However, it was agreed upon that the county should issue the order as a precaution.

The county judge has the authority to lift the ban before it expires in 90 days if sufficient rain occurs.
