Snyder, Myers represent Refugio in Regional Spelling Bee in Victoria

Katie Synder and Logan Myers competed at the Regional Spelling Bee in Victoria on Tuesday, March 4, in the Fine Arts Auditorium - Victoria College.

Katie is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Snyder. She is a sixth grader at Refugio Elementary.

Katie is a straight A student and is editor of Kitten Express. She received a third place in the Soil and Water Conservation Contest.

She is an active member of her church where she participates in the choir and serves as an accolade. Her hobbies are reading, playing football; she enjoys photography and loves the outdoors.

This was Katie’s first year to participate at this level in this event.

Logan is the son of Sherrie and Richard Myers. He is an A/B student, plays football, basketball, tennis and baseball. He also throws the shot put in track.

Logan is a member of the First Baptist church. He is a 4-H member and raises rabbits and chickens.

His hobbies include skateboarding, motorcycling, and enjoys outdoor activities. This was Logan’s third year to participate.

Megan Willmon, a seventh grader from Crain Middle School was declared the winner after a record 36 round competition.
