Rohan wins third at UH-Victoria

Austwell-Tivoli High School sophomore Kenna Rohan placed third at the University of Houston-Victoria/The Victoria College Math and Computer Science Awareness Day contests last Thursday.

Approximately 50 contestants, along with other students participated in the event and attended seminars with topics including computer graphics and robot building.

They also had a pizza party and listened to guest speaker Sarah McKenna, chief meteorologist at local television station KAVU.

This year’s theme was “Mathematics and Climate.”

The event was sponsored by UHV, VC and Alcoa Foundation.
