Jesus tells Simon a parable which exposes his self-righteous attitude and points out that one who is forgiven much is freed to act with radical love. Acts of love are signs that we know our need for God’s forgiveness and become evidence of faith in God’s forgiveness to change the core of who we are. How does Simon react to Jesus’ story? Does Simon change his ways? The story is left open; we do not know. How will we react? Will we change our ways that block God’s forgiveness? That story is also left open.
