Delegates attend Retired Teachers convention

Delegates of the Refugio County Retired School personnel recently attended the 56th annual Texas Retired Teachers Association State Convention in Austin.

Local delegates include Anita Barber, president, and Betty Kucera, secretary.

The convention drew 649 delegates and 358 guests at the Westin Park Central, a total of 1,007 attendees.

Business was conducted by Dora H. Scott-Nichols, president.

Guest speakers were Linus Wright, TRTA Board of Trustees chairman and Brian Guthrie, TRS deputy director.
