Woodsboro FCCLA chapter wins in several STAR events

The Woodsboro Chapter of the Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) competed in the Region IV Leadership Conference in Galveston.. Chapter members, Joey Gonzales, Shelby Wendland, Cheyenne McGovern and Brittany Cramer were among 800 delegates attending the two-day conference.

STAR Events (Students Taking Action with Recognition) and Proficiency Events are competitive events in which members showcase their life skills in different areas of competitions.

Cheyenne McGovern placed first in Junior Chapter Showcase Display with her display of FCCLA – the Road to Success.

Joey Gonzales competed in Occupational Specific Entrepreneurship and placed second. Shelby Wendland also placed in Fashion Design.

McGovern and Wendland will compete at the State FCCLA Leadership Conference at the Convention Center in Corpus Christi this weekend.

The group will be accompanied by Lacie Beall and Adviser, Edith Bujnoch.
