Raymond “Rusty” Nail, 75, formerly of Refugio, died Tuesday, Sept. 16, 2008. He was very active in the Boy Scouts and was an Eagle Scout. Rusty also participated in the National Jamboree at Valley Forge in 1950. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was a 32nd Degree Mason and Scottish Rite and a member of the Refugio Lodge 190. He was also a member of the American Legion Bill Roper County Post 364.

Rusty was born on June 27, 1933 to Lester and Bernice Nail.

He is preceded in death by his parents and his lifelong friend and coworker, Ken Callis.

Survivors include his sister, Marilyn Erekson Lambert and husband Jim of Odem; several nieces and nephews.

Visitation was from 9 to 10 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 20, at Memorial Funeral Home in Corpus Christi. A memorial service immediately followed at 10 a.m. Burial was at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 20, in Oakwood Cemetery, Refugio.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Masonic Lodge 190 of Refugio, the American Legion Post 364 in Corpus Christi or The Boy Scouts of America.
