Austwell-Tivoli traveled to Nordheim Sept. 19 to open up their junior high volleyball season. The girls’ nerves were running in high gear as soon as they entered the gym but soon gained control of them.

The Lady Redfish fought hard and won game one 25-15. After winning game one by a large margin, the girls were excited and ready to start the second game against Nordheim. The girls who played the second game also did very well. They earned a win with a score of 25-11. This win put Tivoli at 1-0 on the year.

Match two would be the Lady Redfish home opener hosting Pawnee. It was an exciting game for the girls because of the fact it was at their home and because their fans packed the stands. Before the game even started the two coaches agreed to play all three games no matter the outcome of the first two.

The Lady Redfish got off to a shaky start in the first game, falling behind 3-10, but persistence and a lot of hustle paid off in the end with a 25-19 victory over Pawnee.

The second game started much like the first with the Lady Redfish falling behind early. Late in the game, the Lady Redfish tied the game at 24, then they went on to score the next two points, winning the game 26-24.

The Lady Redfish dominated the whole third game and came away with a 25-10 victory. This would put the Lady Redfish at 2-0 for the season.

The girls and Coach Crawford would like to thank everyone who came out to support the Lady Redfish. “Your support is very important to the girls and very much appreciated,” the coach said.
