WHS technology students win top honors at contest

Woodsboro Industrial Technology students took top honors in the 61st annual Skills USA Leadership and Skills Championship in Corpus Christi recently.

Victor Valdez, Alex Bayarena, Johathan Parker and Ray Flores won best in show in the plumbing division.

Carlos Deases and Matt Tuttle won a state superior for multiple exhibit in the furniture division of welding competition.

Jody Marble and Dillon Vega won state superior in the welding division.

“This was the first year for Woodsboro to compete so congratulations to these students for a job well done,” said Eugene Fricks, WHS welding instructor.
