Everything from your toaster to your computer to your answering machine came with operating instruction. But how about your kids?

Ever found a manual that tells you how to raise a secure and happy child? Or instructions for managing family problems, grandparenting or stepparenting issues and stress?

Family Connections has helped thousands of families face challenges in parenting, building self-esteem, solving problems and talking with kids about important things, like sex and drugs.

Anyone who wants to improve his/her skills in getting along with others will benefit from these sessions. Whole families, couples, parents and children, grandparents, extended family, single-parents, stepfamilies, foster families, adoptive families, teen parents, new/young and expecting parents are all encouraged to attend.

Children over 6 years old are encouraged to learn with their parents. Don’t miss this chance for the whole family to learn together.

All families have disagreements and fights. What if your family could have one less fight a month? Your family’s relationships will grow stronger by using these techniques.

Of course, no one wants to drag out his/her private family business in front of others. Family Connections understands this and won’t require you to share anything with the group.

The workshop sessions are led by a licensed professional counselor with special training in Family Connections. Couples may also receive a waiver from the application fee for their marriage license upon completion.

The free workshop series is held at the Woodsboro Elementary School Cafeteria on Saturdays, May 9, 16, and 30 from 10 to 3.

Complementary lunch and childcare for children 6 and under is provided. Email FaithUnited@gmail.com or call 543-4168 to register.

Registration encouraged, walk-ins welcome.Family Connections is sponsored by Faith United Church of Woodsboro.

Not all families should be together, there are many children being abused by their parents or have been while growing up and want no contact what so ever with the abusers. And some family members are soul vampires that like to suck the life, love & happiness out of others. Surround yourself with positive loving people whether they are family are not. If your family is bringing you down & not supportive avoid them, everyone deserves to be happy whether with ones biological family or not.

I like the you can pick your friends but you can't pick your family. But you aren't necessarily stuck with them, Thank God!
