According to a Live Oak County sheriff’s report, a call came in at 12:27 a.m. Friday, March 14, advising that a white pickup ran into a building near the Bar @ Three Rivers, then continued southbound on Highway 281.
The caller noted there was a significant amount of damage to the building, but no one inside the building was injured.
Just six minutes later, another call was received in reference to a white pickup that was rolled over on Highway 281, about a mile south of Three Rivers. The caller advised that there were two males who appeared to be severely injured and bleeding.
The report notes that the license plate number of the 2006 white Dodge Ram 1500 pickup at the rollover matched the license plate number for the hit-and-run that happened just minutes earlier.
Airlife was on the scene at 1:28 a.m., and both men were taken to a hospital in San Antonio.
The two men inside the pickup were employed at Hovis Surveying Company, out of Spring. A call placed to the manager at Hovis Surveying was not returned.
