The Lady Eagles continued their winning ways on Friday with a no-hit shutout victory over the Runge Lady Jackets by the score of 12-0 in five innings.
In the Runge game, the Lady Eagles went scoreless in the first inning.
In the second inning the Lady Eagles played good defense, going three up and three down.
The bats came alive in the bottom half of the second.
Woodsboro sent 10 batters to the plate, scoring five runs and stranding two.
Hannah Niemann led off with a walk followed by another walk to Anna Vega.
Rachel Blaschke collected an infield base hit, with bases loaded. Shelby Sheffield plated Niemann on an RBI walk.
With one run in and the Runge pitcher struggling, Taylor Perez received an RBI walk to keep the bases loaded.
Toni Martinez hit a 2RBI double to right center field, scoring Blaschke and Sheffield.
Kendall Wendland hit an RBI single scoring courtesy runner Madalynn Nixon from third, making the score 5 to 0.
Pitcher Jamie Wilson dominated the circle again, striking out the side on just 12 pitches.
The hometown ladies scored two more runs in the bottom half of the third inning.
Vega led off with a walk followed by another base hit by right fielder Blaschke.
Perez collected an RBI on a double to score Vega. Martinez collected her third RBI on a single to score Blaschke from third.
In the top half of the fourth inning the Lady Eagle defense did not break with Perez, making a spectacular catch on a foul ball up against the back stop.
Wilson fielded two ground balls to retire the side. In the bottom half of the inning the Lady Eagles sent 11 batters to hit, scoring five runs.
Wilson led off the inning with a walk, followed by a Wendland and Niemann walk.
With the bases juiced, courtesy runner Hallie Martinez scored from third on a wild pitch to make the score 8-0.
Anna Vega then singled in Wendland from third. With runners on the corners, Blaschke walked and stole second to put runners in scoring position.
Perez then hit a double to score Vega and Blaschke, for her third and fourth RBI to make the score 12-0.
Wilson once again owned the circle, striking out three batters in a row to end the game.
Wilson (12-3, 8-1) pitched a no-hitter versus Runge with eight strikeouts and two walks. Martinez went 4-4, 3 RBIs, and three doubles, Perez was 2-3 with 4 RBIs, Wendland was 1-3, with 1 RBI, Vega 1-1, 1 RBI, Rachel Blaschke 2-2, in the win over Runge.

Woodsboro’s season record is 12-4, and district 8-1.
