Mr. Rydolph was born July 25, 1937, in Refugio, to Agnes Richardson and Simmie Rydolph.
After graduating from Refugio High School in 1955, he attended Del Mar Jr. College on a track scholarship.
After finishing two years at Del Mar College he moved to Denver, Colo. where he worked at the National Jewish Hospital.
He moved to Los Angles where he joined the Marine Corps, serving for 10 years.
Two of those years he spent in Viet Nam.
After his military service he went to work for Reynolds Metal Co., followed by Dupont, and retired from the Corpus Christi Army Depot.
He was a member of the American Legion Post #364 for 34 years.
Survivors include his wife, Esther; son, Kennard (Phyllis) Rydolph II; two daughters, Karen (Casino) Pennywell and Lisa (Steven) Campbell; four grandchildren, Kennard Rydolph III, Joshua Rydolph, Sarah Campbell and Matthew Campbell; a brother, Howard Rydolph; a sister, Selma Mathis; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
