The Austwell-Tivoli Independent School District is attempting round up the names of four-year old children living in the district prior to consideration of providing a pre-kindergarten class in 2009-2010, according to Principal Stephen Maldonado.

To be eligible for the pre-kindergarten class, a child must be four years old prior to Sept. 1, and meet at least one of two criteria.

The child must be either limited in speaking or using the English language; or be from a family whose income meets the eligibility requirements of the school’s free or reduced lunch program.

Any parent or guardian of a child in A-TISD who meets the criterial should come by the Tivoli Elementary principal’s office during the month of May to register their child.

A copy of the child’s birth certificate, immunization records, and proof of family income should be provided at the time of registration.
