Local football players participate in Coastal Bend All-Star Football Game

CORPUS CHRISTI – The 19th Annual Coastal Bend High School Football All-Star Classic was held Saturday, May 17, at Corpus Christi Buccaneer Stadium.

The proceeds from this game benefit the hospitals throughout Texas which are supported by the Al Amin Shrine Temple of Corpus Christi.

The teams, East and West All-Stars, are chosen from players throughout South Texas.

Seniors from each classification A through 5A are able to be selected.

Selections this year for the East squad include: Lionel Brown, Justin Fierova, Jonathan Flores from Woodsboro High School, and J.B. Brown, Dana Franklin, Alex Coronado, and Jim LaFond from Refugio.

The East All-Star coaches staff was led by Woodsboro Athletic Director and Head Coach Wade Miller.

Joining him were Defensive Coordinator E.J. McNamara, Noel Lopez, Tony Gonzales, Keith Williams, Aaron Houston, Craig Summers, Don Schneider, Jaime Cano, Tyler Quesada and Tyler Garza.

The Woodsboro staff said they enjoyed being chosen to work with these fine players throughout South Texas.

They said they thank the players for their efforts given during practice and at the game. With discipline, dedication, and desire, the East was able to win 24-10.
