EL PASO – Michael Andrew Repka, Airman First Class in the U.S. Air Force, returned from a tour in Afghanistan Saturday, June 7.

Michael enlisted in the Air Force in August 2012 and was stationed in Kandahar since January 2014.

He is Crew Chief of the Reaper drone and is responsible for maintenance of the aircraft.

When he arrived in El Paso Saturday, June 7, there was a surprise welcome party at the airport which included his mother Kim (James Thompson), his father Johnny, brother Tyler, girlfriend Jordan and friend of the family Lori.

Michael’s sister Katrina was unable to make the trip to El Paso, but was there in spirit and helped make the welcome signs the family took with them.

Michael will continue his duties as Crew Chief at Holloman Air Force base near Alamogordo, New Mexico, where he was stationed prior to his tour in Afghanistan.
