It’s been a sad July for Bayside. The mayor, Mr. Tom VanBuren, was not present to open this month’s town council meeting.
The mayor seemed to single out one maintenance worker for anything he could find, real or imagined.
Working conditions deteriorated to the point that this worker felt harassed on an almost daily basis. He finally looked for and found other employment.
It seems that the mayor has succeeded in getting rid of a hard working valuable employee who actually cared about our town.
Bayside has a system of automatically calling its citizens in the event of an emergency.
It should be of grave concern to every person living in Bayside that in the event of an actual emergency (we are in hurricane season) there is only one person authorized to make the call.
Shouldn’t we have a backup person?
