From Romans 12 comes the plea that one is to worship by living holistic, God pleasing lives. How one learns what God asks of them come by reading God’s word in the bible. Some people find that bible confusing and feel it doesn’t make sense. God’s grace empowers different forms of service among Christians, but all forms of ministry function to build up the body of Christ.
In having the word from the bible, one finds many teachings and resources of what God brings to life. Does this mean that people can order others to do as they say? Does the Word of God support what you say? The Spirit that moves within everyone might be the spirit of good of the spirit of evil. The example of praying for rain might bring flooding conditions as well as conditions for the projects which do not need rain. Still one is encouraged to pray for rain.
What does God reveal? All are creatures of God and the children of Jesus. God didn’t choose one for their looks or their singing. God chose and He promises to deliver in all aspects of life. No matter how angry one is, God is with them. No mater what one does, God is with them. God supports one through the aggravations of living.
As one studies God’s word, they experience difficulty because the world moves fast and one may have trouble keeping current. Sometimes the older generation finds it difficult to give advice to younger generations because their experiences are so different. On occasion one’s spiritual lives are frozen in time, as well. What one absorbs on Sunday mornings is not enough. Everyone prays for many things, but there may be strange happenings which result.
While everyone prays for a variety of reasons; on the other hand, one also needs the prayers of others. One asks God to be part of the process as all are a family of God. Countless believers have been supported through a crisis by the prayers and love of others in their church. Prayers, phone calls, a kind word, a hug after church - these actions express the community in Christ.
