In addition to being honored guests, the seniors’ parents and their immediate families will be treated to a star-packed show with three of the Opry’s favorite entertainers, including Carol Cochran of New Braunfels, Allison Collins of Brenham and Ronnie Mason of Hondo.
Cochran is a technology specialist at New Branunfels ISD. She owns and operates a DJ and Karaoke business and has appeared on many area Opry shows.
Collins sings and plays the accordion. “She is a great entertainer,” said Jay Monrad, show organizer.
Mason is a real crowd pleaser and is a regular at the Oprys from his home in Hondo to the Valley. Ronnie has appeared on stage with country stars LeAnn Rimes, Willie Nelson, Johnny Bush and Hank Thompson.
Country music fans may want to come early to enjoy a bite to eat at the food court. Dinner plates are served for $5.
Hundreds of dollars in door prizes and gift certificates are given each month at break time. Everyone is encouraged to hold on to your ticket stub to be eligible for a prize.
All net proceeds for this show goes toward the scholarship program for the Refugio County graduates each year.
The cost of the show is still only $5 per person for more than two hours of live music. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. and the show begins at 7 p.m. For more information on the show or for directions call Jay or Opal Monrad at 543-4297 or 550-3212 or Neal and Linda Haertig at 543-4924 (after 5 p.m.).
