Well, it took 13 years and a lot of walking up and down our hall to finally be standing in front of you tonight and, I’m sure glad we made it. Tonight there is a lot to celebrate about the class of 2009 through the years we have had some good laughs, created strong friendships, even learned a little bit, and have made several unforgettable memories.
Along the way our parents, teachers, family and friends have helped guide us to make us better prepared for the paths we are about to take. To all of our parents, family, and friends I would like to say thank you. With your help we are better prepared for life in the real world. You have been there for our games, the ups and downs, you’ve helped organize events, picked us up in the middle of the night from events, and helped with homework when you could. I guess I could say thanks for putting up with us and always being there when we needed you.
And most importantly, I would like to thank my mom and dad for dragging me out of bed in the mornings and doing your best to get me to school on time even if I didn’t always make it. With all of the lectures and motivation, you have pushed me to do the best that I can. Thank you mom and dad.
Today represents moving on, growing up, and figuring everything out. I don’t know about all of you, but it seems like this last year of high school went faster than any other. It sure has flown by.
After tonight we will go our separate ways to follow our own dreams and pursue our talents. Some of us will enter the work force in the coming months and some of us are headed right back to school for another four or more years. Each one of us will change, even if we don’t want to. It is just the way things work. But no matter what dreams we pursue or talents we follow we will always be connected. We will be connected to this school, our one hall, and this community. And even if we never return to Austwell-Tivoli we will still be connected through the memories that we have made here together. Thank you.
