A three-person commissioners court restored the burn ban for another 45 days Tuesday morning, only one week after lifting the prohibition on burning.
“We’ve had two grass fires in the last three days,” said Commissioner Stanley Tuttle. “People were burning brush and the fire got away from them.”
Commissioner Gary Bourland presided over the meeting and Commissioners Ann Lopez and Tuttle favored restoring the ban.
Aerial fireworks were also banned. The commissioners will revisit the ban, should the area get substantial rain.
