Newcomer Ricky Absure to perform at Opry show

The Refugio Country Opry will welcome back two crowd-pleasing performers and first timer Ricky Absure to this month’s show at the Refugio County Expo Center at the fairgrounds, Thursday, July 2.

Ricky Absure of Corpus Christi will make his first appearance at the show, Stacey Stark of Portland and Emily Feist of George West, will return again to perform, along with the award-winning Country Opry Band.

“Stacey has been on our show many times, as well as most of the guests on the Opry show,” said Neal Haertig, organizer. “She is an outstanding vocalist.”

Emily will also return.

“You will like her,” Haertig said.

The organizers are sure that Ricky’s first Opry performance will be one the audience will appreciate.

“Ricky plays a mean harmonica and sings,” said Neal Haertig. “Come on out and enjoy these great entertainers.”

Doors open at 5:30 p.m. and the show starts at 7 p.m. The cost is $5 per person.

All net proceeds go to the Opry scholarship fund for graduating seniors from all three county schools.
