Simona G. Anzaldua, 84, died Sept. 26, 2008. She was employed at Stricklin Primary at Refugio Independent School District as Cafeteria Manager for 32 years.

She was born Aug. 20, 1924 in Harlingen, to Jose and Paula Guerrero.

She is preceded in death by her husband David R. Anzaldua, sisters Angelita Melendez and Esperanza Norman, brothers, Salavador Guerrero and Vicente Guerrero.

Survivors include one daughter, Rachael G. Sanchez and husband Richard of Woodsboro; two sons, Rudy Anzaldua and wife Rita of Refugio, and Ruben Anzaldua and wife Carolyn of Troy, Ohio; four sisters, Beatrice Rios and Elia Perez of Refugio, Erlinda Benavidez of Rockport, Mary White of Floresville; one brother, Gilbert Guerrero of Sheppard; six grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren

A rosary was recited Sunday, Sept. 28, 2008, in Moore Funeral Home Chapel at 7 p.m.. Mass was celebrated Monday, Sept. 29, at St. James Catholic Church in Refugio, Burial was 3 p.m. in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.

Pallbearers include Michael Cantu, Johnny Melendez, Ray Benavidez, Ray Guerrero, Bill White, Joe David Perez.
