Beeville Soccer Club tryouts
Beeville Soccer Club will hold tryouts for the Division II competitive teams. All players must attend one tryout to be eligible for a Division II team. Players age 10 and older may try out. Tryouts will be at 6:30 p.m. at the Veterans Memorial Park on June 2 and June 10 for girls and on June 5 and June 9 for boys. If you have any questions, contact Billy Weaver at 362-0055.
Practice for Beeville’s summer track participants will be held on Tuesdays through Thursdays from 8-9 a.m. for the midget and younger groups and from 9-10 a.m. for the youth and older groups.
All practices will be held at the high school track. Registration forms should be turned in before June 3 in the JHS athletic field house so that T-shirts can be ordered and received in time for the track meets. Contact coach Stephen Silva through the BISD Athletic Department at 362-6058.
Beeville Little League closing ceremonies
The closing ceremonies for the Beeville Little League will be held on June 12 at 6:30 p.m. at the Major Boys field.
All teams are encouraged to attend the closing ceremonies. All players will receive a trophy. First and second place teams will be announced in the minor, major and junior divisions and the all-star tournament players will be announced.
Ingleside 3-on-3 tournament
Coach John Reyes has his third annual 3-on-3 basketball tournament set to go on June 21 in the Ingleside High School gymnasium. Play will begin at 9 a.m. The entry fee for the tournament is $80 per team with a four-player limit per team. It is restricted to male players 15 and older. Games will be ten minutes in length and there will also be a 3-point contest along with a dunk contest.
Deadline to enter is June 14 or the first 20 teams. Trophies will be awarded for contest winners and every participant will receive a T-shirt. A concession stand will be available. Second season softball leagues forming
The “second season” of Beeville softball will be getting underway in mid-June. Get your ladies’ or coed team ready to play and contact 358-4426 or 542-6137 to sign up to join in on the softball fun. The leagues would like to invite all the Beeville area merchants and organizations to compete with a team of their own.
Girls national softball tourney
The U.S. Open national fast-pitch softball tournament will be held on July18-20 at the Ford Softball Complex in Beaumont. Girls teams in the 12 and under, 14 and under, and the 18 and under divisions are invited. Call 979-258-0750. Deadline for entry is June 1.
