Quilts, handcrafts, plants, games will highlight Fall Festival

The ladies at Our Lady of Refuge Catholic Church have stitched a Christmas quilt that will go on the auction block on Oct. 26 at Our Lady of Refuge Catholic Church’s annual Fall Festival.

A quilt made by Pat Beck is one of the unique hand-crafted items that will be one of the prizes in a drawing. A picture donated by Father Rory Deane will be in the auction as well.

Other prizes to be included in the drawing are a gas grill, fishing trip for three, a fire pit, picnic table, a four foot rustic wooden bench, $100 Academy gift certificate, $100 Blue Sky gift certificate, $25 Moya’s gift certificate, tool kit, full detail job, Toro leaf blower, and Dairy Queen cake and gift certificates. One need not be present to win. Tickets are $1 each.

Parishioners who wish to donate items for the auction may leave them at the church office during office hours from 8 a.m. - 12 p.m., Monday through Friday. Auction items also may be taken to the auditorium on Friday, Oct. 24 starting at 9 a.m. and Saturday, Oct. 25 from 9 a.m. until volunteers finish setting up.

Other things going on during the festival include a plant sale from 9 a.m.-12 p.m., Country Store, 10 a.m.,; barbeque chicken dinner, 11 a.m. -1 p.m.; silent auction 11 a.m.-2 p.m.; live auction 1:30-4 p.m.; costume contest 1-1:30 p.m.

Registration for the costume contest starts at 12:15 p.m., children’s fun and games run from 10 a.m. -2 p.m.
