Cecelia Capito, Blake Anthony and the Jamboree Band will headline this months Refugio County Jamboree on Thursday, Oct. 23, at the Refugio County Community Center from 7:30 to 10 p.m.

Entertainers Anthony and Marek, both of Corpus Christi, and Capito of Rockport, are all crowd pleasers on the country music scene.

Marek has been playing in local bands for years.

“He is a great drummer and he has a wonderful voice that will impress the audience,” said Rick Faircloth, show organizer.

Capito is from the North USA, but has settled in Rockport.

“She has just recently started doing the “Opry” around the area, but she has opened the eyes of the natives; she is really a good entertainer in the country music venues,” Faircloth said. “You’ll be real impressed with her beautiful voice.”

Anthony is turning heads these days with his energetic blend of country and gospel music, combined with his entertaining and inspiring story telling.

Anthony started playing the guitar at the age of six, and performed during his pre-teen years around Corpus Christi.

It has been said “when Blake steps in front of an audience, his genuine and deeply seated desire to bring a smile to every person’s heart is heard louder that the music or the words to his songs.”

The Jamboree will be introducing a new feature at the food bar this month. Food items will be catered by L&L BBQ of Refugio.

To start off with, they will have three items to choose from, a chopped BBQ sandwich, a super baked potato with all the trimmings and a tasty Frito pie dish. As time goes on, other things, such as a full barbecue plate will be available.

All these menu items will be priced reasonably, so that it doesn’t hurt your pocket book too much, Faircloth said.

“We hope you will come out, and give us a look,” Faircloth added. “Let us know what you think, or suggest.”

Serving will begin at 5:30 p.m., and will last until the first break, about 8:30 p.m.
