With the victories, both teams improved their district records to 1-0 and improved their overall records to 4-0.
In the 7th grade game, the Bobcats scored first when Johnathan Brown reached the end zone on a 32-yard run. Marquis Brown scored the two point conversion to make the score 8-0.
The Bobcats scored their second touchdown on their next possession when Travis Quintanilla scored from eight yards to make the score 14-0. The two point conversion failed, making the score 14-0 at the end of the first quarter.
The Bulldogs scored on their next possession, driving down the field and scoring on a short run. The extra point failed, and the Cat’s lead, 14-6.
Quintanilla connected with Johnathan Brown on a 12-yard touchdown pass right before halftime to make the score 20-6 at the half.
The second half started with Banquete driving the ball to the Bobcat 30. But the Bobcat defense, led by Kevin Rodriguez, Shane Jochetz, Dalton Brown, Daniel Ochoa, and Dana Franklin, forced Banquete to turn the ball over.
The third quarter ended, 20-6. The fourth quarter started with a nice scoring drive by the Bobcats. Quintanilla finished the drive with a 28 yard TD run. The two point conversion was scored by Johnathan Brown, making the score 28-6.
The Bobcat defense led by Quinton Rison, Nicolas Jaramillo, Darrin DeLeon, Jim Lafond, and Alexis Coronado stopped Banquete from scoring in the final minutes, making the final score 28-6.
Offensive standouts were Quintanilla, J. Brown, M. Brown, Andrew Williams, Adan Gonzalez and Devon LaFrance.
The 8th grade Bobcats opened the game with an impressive 80-yard scoring drive. After long runs by Draigon Silvas, Davin Henderson, and Joe Williams, Jack Gumm capped off the drive with a short five-yard touchdown run. Silvas scored the two-point conversion to make the score 8-0.
The Bobcats scored their second touchdown of the quarter on a five-yard run by Marcus Thompson. The two-point conversion failed and the quarter ended, 14-0.
The second quarter saw Banquete score their first touchdown on a long run. The extra point failed making the score 14-6. The Bobcats answered with a 25-yard TD pass from Jack Gumm to Cameron Sternadel. Silvas scored the two-point conversion for a 22-6 halftime lead.
The second half started with the Bobcat defense, led by John Wesley Shipp, Cameron Sternadel, Malcolm Franklin, Steven Cantu, and Silvas stuffing the Banquete offense and forcing a turnover.
From there, Silvas took the next handoff and raced 64 yards for a TD. Brett Davis scored the two-point conversion and the Cats led 30-6.
The Bulldogs were forced to punt their next possession by the Bobcat defense with Chris Williams, Joshua Martinez, Andrew Garcia, and Jaeren Smith – Hollins making tackles for losses.
The Bobcats took over and scored again when Silvas connected with Conner Lowrie on a beautiful 71-yard touchdown pass. The two-point conversion failed, and the score was 36-6 at the end of the third quarter.
The final quarter began with Banquete breaking a long 60-yard TD run. The two-point conversion was good, for a 36-14 lead.
The Bobcats finished the scoring when Silvas broke loose for another long 64-yardTD run. Davis added the two point conversion and the game ended, 44-14.
