Bobby R. Hranicky, 75, died Wednesday, April 15, 2009, at his residence. He was a patrolman for the Yorktown Police Department from 1964 to 1966, and then was the Yorktown Water Superintendent until the mid 1970s. He was also a heavy equipment operator.

He was born Dec. 21, 1933 in Kenedy to Robert and Alice Ella Krause Hranicky.

He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Dixie Lee Hranicky; son, Kenneth Ray Hranicky; daughter, Lisa Ann Hranicky and a granddaughter, Lauren Villafana.

Survivors include one son, Bobby L. and wife Kelly Hranicky of Yorktown; sisters, Burnie Balusek and Shirley Jean Smith, both of Refugio, and a granddaughter, Casey Hranicky of Yorktown.

Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., Friday, April 17, at Finch Funeral Chapel. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m.

Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Saturday, April 18, at the First Baptist Church in Yorktown.

Burial will be in Westside Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to First Baptist Church or Yorktown E.M.S.
