GOLIAD — Registrations are still being accepted for the 6th Annual Goliad Fall River Flotilla scheduled Saturday, Nov. 1. The flotilla is a 6½-mile paddle tour of the San Antonio River through Goliad’s scenic river corridor.

The flotilla route follows the Goliad Paddling Trail, designated by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department as an Inland Paddling Trail of Texas.

Registration is required and will be accepted through Wednesday, Oct. 29. To register, e-mail or call (830) 780-3249.

All paddlers must supply their own boat and safety equipment, including appropriate personal flotation devices (PFDs).

Canoe, kayak and jon boat put-in is from 9-11 a.m. in the staging area on the north side of the Highway 59 bridge, west of downtown Goliad on the San Antonio River.

Once unloaded, participants are invited to drive to Goliad State Park where a shuttle service will return them to their boat and gear. The last shuttle run will accommodate paddlers who arrive at the staging area by 11 a.m.

A free lunch will be served to registered paddlers at the Goliad State Park from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

The entrance fee into Goliad State Park will be waived for registered flotilla attendees. Individuals driving into the park must check-in at park headquarters. All camping rules and fees apply. For camp reservations, call (512) 389-8900.

The flotilla and shuttle are subject to cancellation through 8 a.m. on event day due to weather and/or flow conditions. Contact (361) 645-3405 for event status.
