Students from the student council have joined the Tobacco Free T.E.A.M. in support of Rexanna’s Foundation for fighting lung Cancer.
The WHS StuCo will draw attention to the negative impact of tobacco use. Members of the Tobacco Free T.E.A.M. will take pledges for each huddle during the varsity football game on Friday, Nov. 7.
“You can help make a difference,” said Rhonda Perez, sponsor. “Support Woodsboro High School Student Council efforts by making a pledge.”
Funds raised through the Huddle Up for the Cure event will support cancer research at The University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, student college scholarships, and tobacco education and awareness programs.
Cigarettes kill more Americans than alcohol, car accidents, suicide, AIDS, homicide and illegal drugs combined. To find out how you can help Woodsboro High School make a difference in the fight against lung cancer and tobacco use, please contact Lisa Spain at firstname.lastname@example.org or www.rexannasfoundation.org.
Anyone wishing to make a donation or pledge may also contact Rhonda Perez at email@example.com or call the high school at 543-4521.
