“Both teams, boys and girls, have been competing really well in the past few meets and have continued to better their times,” Coach Zach Crawford said. “Going into this Meet I expected to place as a team and have one or two individuals place in the top 10, but to my surprise we did a lot better than that.”
Crawford said the girls; team ran “awesome.”
The girls team finished with three of the five team members in the top 10 and the other two runners just behind that. Haley See placed fourth; Haley Newton, seventh; Lauren Kelso ninth; Deshea Hernandez, 13th; and Brooke Kelso, 14th.
The boys team also had three runners place in the top 10. Oscar Tabora placed fourth; Avery Camacho, seventh; Casey Simpson, 10th; Sean Worley placed 13th, and A.J. Reyna, 16th.
“I knew going into the meet that we would represent the school well but I had no idea that we would do this well,” Crawford said. “I am so proud of our kids. They worked hard, ran every Saturday several weekends in a row, and their hard work finally paid off for them. Thanks to all the supporters who followed us throughout the season.”
