Amador Villarreal Sr., 74, of Tivoli, died Sept. 15, 2009. He was a retired heavy equipment operator with the County of Refugio and was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.

Villarreal was born Aug. 5, 1935, in Refugio County, to Alfredo Villarreal Sr. and Maria Dolores Herrera Villarreal.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Mary Louise Sepulveda Villarreal; four sisters, Audelia Valdez, Estella Martinez, Irene Tellez, and Amalia Villarreal and two brothers, Eliseo Villarreal Sr. and Alfredo Villarreal Jr.

Survivors include two daughters, Dianna Villarreal Matthys of Angleton, Cynthia Ann Villarreal-Ross of Alvin; three sons, Daniel Villarreal of Tivoli, Jimmy Villarreal of Bay St. Louis, Miss., and Gilbert Villarreal of Victoria; one sister, Elvira Villarreal of Beeville; and 10 grandchildren.

Visitation was held after 1 p.m. Friday with a rosary recited at 7 p.m., at Artero Memorial Chapels in Port Lavaca.

Funeral Mass was celebrated at 10 a.m., at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Tivoli, the Rev. Gabriel P. Coelho officiating.

Burial was in Tivoli Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Daniel Villarreal, Jimmy Villarreal, Blaine Matthys, Chuck Ross, Jacob Montelongo, and Joe Calzado.
