She was a graduate of Our Lady of the Lake High School and University and was elected to Who’s Who in American Colleges and Universities.
She was a past member of Our Lady of the Lake Development Board and Alumni Association; member of Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulcher; past member of the Tuesday Musical Club; former Board member of Catholic Family and Children Services; member of Oblate Associates; charter member and past Grand Sultana De Bexar; member and past president of Gibbons Literary Club; member of St. Monica’s Guild and Daughters of the Republic of Texas.
She received the Archbishop Furey Award in 1977. For 40 years she assembled the Junior Oblate crosses for the students at St. Anthony Catholic High School.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Toudouze who died Aug. 19, 2009.
Survivors include her daughters, Susan (Raleigh) Brotherman, Nancy (John) Starr, Sally A. Toudouze, and Kathleen (Steve) Weirich; sons, Charles (Barbara) Toudouze Jr, and Wilson (Lynn) Toudouze; 15 grandchildren; and five great grandchildren; sister, Bernice Heard of Refugio; brother, Robert W. Heard and wife, Carol of San Antonio.
A rosary was recited Sunday, Oct. 11 at 6 p.m. at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, 223 E. Summit. The family received friends following the rosary until 9 p.m.
A Mass was celebrated Monday, Oct. 12, at 11 a.m. at the Oblate School of Theology, 285 Oblate Drive in San Antonio.
Burial was in Mission Burial Park South.
