More than 327 students from eight schools attended Monarch Madness on Friday at the Refugio County Fairgrounds.

Originally scheduled for the Fennessey Ranch, the chance of bad weather resulted in the change.

The University of Houston sponsored the event and were joined by the University of Texas and Texas A&M Corpus Christi as well as the Aransas National Wildlife Refuge, Texas Parks and Wildlife and the National Seashore.

Twelve learning stations were set up on the grounds and in the Expo Center and Padilla Hall.
