Lt. Colonel Charles D. Quinn, age 72, of Beeville, passed away on December 24, 2009. He was born to Owen Alonza Quinn and Elsie May (Stone) Quinn in Gonzales, Texas on August 20, 1937. Charles graduated from AC Jones High School in 1955. He attended St. Mary’s University in San Antonio and graduated from East Texas State in Commerce, TX. Charles D. Quinn proudly served his country and had a distinguished 26-year career in the United States Air Force and retired as a Lt. Colonel in 1985. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Rotary, Board of Realtors and an active member of the Dance Club.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother; J.W. Quinn, and granddaughter; Callie Quinn.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years; Barbara Nell Quinn of Beeville, TX, Children; Bill (Martha) Quinn and their children; Brandon and Ashley of Missouri City, TX, Dan (Cindy) Quinn and their children; Martin, Ryan, Reagan, Kasey, Riley, Patrick, and Abigail of College Station, TX, Gary (Chris) Quinn and their children; Nathan and Michael of McKinney, TX , Cristy (Bryon) Roberts and their children; Rob (Rachel) Pike, Amy, Mary, Madison, and Ethan of Tulsa, OK, Susan (Troy) Mendez and their children; Marcus and Devin of San Antonio, TX, and great grandchild; Tristan Pike, sister; Deborah (Charlie) Schumacher and sister-in-law; Mary Hutchins

A rosary was recited on Sunday, December 27, 2009 at 7 p.m. at Galloway & Sons Chapel in Beeville. Funeral mass was held on Monday, December 28, 2009 at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Interment followed at Beeville Memorial Park.
