Clifton (Bub) Wheeler Jr. member and chairman of the McMullen County Soil and Water Conservation District Board, was commended by the SWCD Board of Directors for devoting 57 years of “good and faithful service.” The commendation letter read: “Your diligence in attending meetings both here and away, as well as your steady conservative leadership, has been an inspiration to all who have served with you. We trust that the standards of fairness and equity you set in dealing with the people we serve will be a guiding principle for this board for years to come.
