The third-grade language arts students at Pawnee ISD signed up to be on Peyton Manning’s football team for a Scholastic Book Contest. According to their teacher, Tara Masucci, if the students would read 100 books by December, Scholastic would donate 1 million books to a Third World country in need of them.

Each time a book was read, the student would write the title of the book on a paper football and post it on the wall. The students read a total of 200 books and that number was added to Peyton Manning’s team count so his team could win.

Tara said, “The kids enjoyed this contest and can’t wait for the next one!”
