Historical trails to be presented at Yorktown Historical Museum

The Yorktown Historical Museum is pleased to host the Texas Independence Trail Region (TITR) board of directors on Tuesday, Nov. 18, at 10 a.m.

The public is welcome to join this group for a tour of the museum as well as presentations of the “History of Salt Creek” by local historian Robert Muschalek and “Dirt Roads and Golden Dreams — Mapping Historical Trails” by Allen Kosub from San Antonio.

The TITR board will also hold its monthly business meeting prior to lunch. For info and lunch reservations, call 361-564-2854 by Friday, Nov. 14.

The public also is invited to a special showing of the Western Days Exhibit on Thursday, Nov. 20, between 6 and 7 p.m. at the Yorktown Historical Museum.

This exhibit includes photos of the Yorktown Chamber of Commerce and royalty floats and coronations as well as costumes worn during these events. The Yorktown Historical Museum hours include Sundays and Thursdays from 2:30-4:30 p.m. as well as by appointment by calling 564-2345.
