The BISD third- and fourth-grade students visited the Beeville Art Museum and had a tour and a correlating art class of the exhibition titled “Then And Now: The World Of Kermit Oliver” with instructor, Education Director Crystal Farris.

During their tour of the exhibition, the students learned about portraits, landscapes, horizon lines, points of interest and the difference between primary and secondary colors, as well as history of the artist.

An exhibition of landscape paintings using watercolor crayons created by the BISD third- and fourth-grade students during their visit are on display at the Beeville Art Museum Nov. 15 through Dec. 15.

Admission to the Beeville Art Museum is free of charge and the public is invited to visit the museum to view the Children Artists of Beeville exhibition.

The Joe Barnhart Foundation, in collaboration with the Beeville Independent School District, the Museum of Fine Arts Houston and Beeville Art Museum, will continue the goal of increasing literacy through art in Beeville. One portion of the BISD/Museum of Fine Arts Houston proposal allows grades K-12 to tour exhibits throughout the school year and grades 1-6 to receive both tours and art classes at the Beeville Art Museum. The proposal is generously funded by the Joe Barnhart Foundation.
