James Hugh Coots, 52, died Friday, Nov. 7, 2008. He was a tool pusher for Pioneer Drilling and a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was an avid fisherman and race car driver.

He was born Jan. 9, 1956 to Hubert L. and Ramona McFarland McClain.

Coots is preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife, Diana Coots of Woodsboro; three daughters, Destiny Scrimpsher and husband Garth; Katrinka Foster and husband Erik; and Heather Coots, all of Woodsboro; one son, James Edward “Little Cooter” and wife Amanda Vela Coots of Woodsboro; one sister, Connie Canady and husband Gene of Tulsa, Okla.; two brothers, Rick McClain and wife Evelyn of Tulsa, Okla; and 10 grandchildren.

Visitation will be Thursday, Nov. 13, from 6-8 p.m. at Moore Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services will be conducted Friday, Nov. 14, at 3 p.m. at Moore Funeral Home Chapel.

Burial will be in LaRosa Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family to help defray funeral expenses.

Pallbearers will be Randy Ranault, Ronnie Van Hueval, Erik Foster, Brandon Prasek, Butch Brown and Glen Brown.

Honorary pallbearers are James Edward Coots and Garth Scrimpsher.
