He was born on Oct. 8, 1916, in Beeville. He was a World War II veteran who served in the U.S. Air Force. He worked for Hall Industries with the Rialto and Rio Theaters.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lucia and Juan Alvarado; his wife, Consuelo Sanchez Alvarado; son, Roberto Alvarado; and sisters, Josefa Cantu, Lucia Delgado, Lupe Casarez and Maria Medina; and brother, Eulalio Alvarado.
Survivors include his daughter, Patricia “Patsy” (Armando) Rodriguez; his son, Rolando “Ronnie” Alvarado; three grandchildren, Marcos Antonio Rodriguez, Consuelo Rey Alvarado Rodriguez and Roberto Antonio Alvarado; and his sister, Lillie Jaso of Refugio.
A rosary was recited at 7 p.m. Sunday at Treviño Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral Mass was celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, with the Rev. Father Luke officiating. Burial with full military honors was in Our Lady of Victory Cemetery No. 2.
