The Ranch Heritage Days Committee will once again sponsor the Cowagraphers at the Refugio County Fair. The committee met last Tuesday, Jan. 26, to discuss the future of Ranch Heritage Days.

In 2002 and 2003, an alliance was formed between Refugio Bee and Goliad counties to produced Ranch Heritage Days. The 2002 event was held at the High Five Ranch in Beeville and the Ray Ranch in Pettus.

The following year, 2003, the Rooke Ranch hosted the event. After the event, Goliad and Beeville dropped out of the alliance and Refugio became the independent sponsor.

“With declining participation each year, the committee decided to only sponsor the Cowagraphers for the Refugio County Fair,” said Kate Campbell.

With the remaining funds, the committee will present scholarships to graduating seniors at each of the county schools.

“At some point, if there appears to be an increase of interest in Ranch Hertage Days by new and/or younger people, this group will be most supportive,” Campbell said.
