As district clerk, I am proud to announce my department was the recipient of 1,774 community service hours in 2009. The partnerships established with Coastal Bend College, Beeville ISD, WorkSource, Experience Works, Corpus Christi Municipal Court and our local judges have provided us opportunity to enhance processes for greater efficiency in our office at no cost to Bee County.
I wish to commend the following individuals and organizations for their partnership to provide this service to Bee County: Ben Shelton, government professor at Coastal Bend College has sent more than 40 students to our office during this year for a total service hours of 104. Rev. Eric Tarver with the Beeville Independent School District has assigned a student in our department year round as a classroom assignment two hours weekly for a total of 56 service hours. Patricia Lucio, Maria Gomez and Sandra Perez of Work Force Solutions have assigned numerous applicants for job training in our department for a total service hours of 82. Experience Works, a nonprofit job training program for seniors, has contributed total service hours of 1,126. Judge David Silva, J.P. Raul Casarez and J.P. David Garza have contributed 381 service hours through their community service assignments. And the Corpus Christi Municipal Court for their assignment to us for 25 service hours.
These hours of service have saved thousands of taxpayer dollars and allowed my department to continue enhancing the technology and services in my office. My staff and I are so grateful for your contribution of service hours to our department and look forward to the continued partnerships.
I welcome any program director seeking job training or service hours for their students to contact my office for placement opportunities. Again thank you!
Anna Marie Silvas
